Review: Veuve Clicquot - La Grande Dame - 1976

Enjoyed during a vertical tasting of VC Champagne at the LVMH head office in London.
Wonderful tasting experience, pure meditation wine, maybe gone past its best, but class still shinning through. Toasty, buttery, distant dried yellow stone fruits on the nose.
Deep golden colour and just a faint stream of very fine bubbles... These do not last long! Taste is toasty, smooth, smoky, dried apricots, spices, forest floor / mushroom and a great length.
Allow to reach room temperature and enjoy within a large bowled glass to get the maximum taste experience.
