Krug 1988 is a initial start year for its trilogy collection of (88/99/90)
1988 is a second life for Maison Krug bottled and released in 2017 and I’m honored to savor it in 2023 a Champagne characterised by great elegance, creaminess and persistence. The cuvée is composed of 50% Pinot Noir, 32% Chardonnay and 18% Pinot Meunier from 21 different villages in the region. It is aged for about 30 years in the bottle to offer today a thousand facets of depth and refinement.
This Krug Collection 1988 opens in the glass with an intense golden yellow colour and regular perlage, the nose is more in to developed characteristics of aromatics of light citrus, apple, honey, spices , buttery and brioche amazingly the sip is fresh and ends with a long finish with minerality and spicy notes.
A champagne that I’ll cherish for my life and blessed to taste.
Cheers 🥂
