Created as a tribute to Pol Roger’s most illustrious devotee, the Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill is one of the most sought-after prestige bottlings in Champagne. The 2013 vintage represents the 20th release of this iconic cuvée since its debut in 1975.
True to Churchill's own preference for robust, full-bodied, and mature Champagnes, this blend is a closely guarded family secret. However, it is known to be Pinot Noir-dominant, sourced exclusively from Grand Cru vineyards that were under vine during Churchill's lifetime. The Pinot Noir provides the structural backbone and authority, while Chardonnay adds a layer of crystalline elegance and finesse.
Nose: An evolving bouquet of dried rose petals, peppery spice, and citrus confit, broadening into notes of toasted brioche, gingerbread, and wild honey.
