A luxurious warming hazelnut colour, still some bubbles in the glass, it delivered a soft whisper when the cork was released.

Aroma - Deep golden syrupy prunes, figs, soft creamy vanilla, dried honey, baked pastries, freshly sliced hams and cured meats in spirit. Distant apricot tart, baked yellow stone fruits, a touch of nuttiness, walnuts with notes of mushrooms and damp cellar.

Flavour - Smooth buttery texture, with caramelized, rich golden dried honey, syrupy figs, prunes, some twigs, well-baked pastries, a slice of toast and more to explore.

I got the pleasure of enjoying this Vintage Champagne with Oz Clarke OBE and Christopher Walkey, after recording some Champagne Collectors and Glass of Bubbly Interviews.
