This is a 100% PN Champagne or a Blanc de Noirs. A very rich style with notes of sour cream, Parmesan cheese, brioche, hazelnut, roasted almonds.
Fruit notes are mainly white cherry, raspberry, dried plum, quince, sugar melon and peach. You can also find notes of lemon jam and the inside of a lemon peel. The aging on wood ensures aromas of yeast, marzipan, roasted chestnuts and vanilla.
A very creamy texture with notes of sea salt in the aftertaste.
The vintage report of 2016 for the entire region of Champagne tells us that there was a lot of frost, hail, rain and mildew, followed by extreme heat in the summer. So a reduction of crop was the result. Yet Pinot Noir did reach better quality levels than Chardonnay.
