Magnum sized. Appearance of bottle was decent storage, slight smokiness to liquid inside and ullage a touch below the expected level.
Cork fine and no visible signs of leakage or damage.
Initially pouring showed a decent colouring of a darker honey shade. Fizz was present initially with tiny streams of fizz persisting, nothing of course like a more recent vintage. Wine looked slightly tired.
Aromas showed a dried apricot, savoury, saline, mushroom character. Elegant style, lots of layers. Fruits are faint, no floral or youthful characters. Umami style.
Flavours showed a salted brioche, dried lemon, savoury, mushroom. Length is decent and a more nutty character shows tightening the palate.
My summary is that the wine was not the best in storage so will have had some effect. It still delivered some delights. Bubbles upon second and third servings were less persistent to zero bubbles. Sediment at bottom from cork.
